Our Supporters!

Naxos Wildlife Protection Association is a non-profit entity that, for more than ten years, has carried out its work exclusively thanks to private donations from companies and individuals.
We have never received any form of state grant or public funding, and the support of our donors remains the cornerstone of our mission and continuity.

2018-present
Our partnership with Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF) has been one of the most consistent and impactful sources of support in our work. Thanks to their trust and long-term commitment, we have been able to implement a series of important projects that strengthened wildlife protection across the Cyclades.
In 2018, their funding allowed us to purchase a GPS transmitter for a rehabilitated sea turtle, ZOE, in collaboration with ARCHELON-The Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece. In 2019, they supported the project “The Network for the Protection of the Sea Turtle in the Cyclades”, which included visits to Syros, Paros, Amorgos and Naxos to inform local communities, professionals of the sea and authorities about sea turtle conservation and rescue protocols, as well as the provision of specially designed transport kits for injured turtles.
In 2020, their support enabled the purchase of a new 2-ton tank for sea turtle hospitalization. In 2023, with the project “Cyclades Care for Wildlife”, we expanded our outreach to even more islands (Milos, Ios, Santorini), delivering seminars on sea turtle conservation and building a dedicated volunteer network to assist in rescue operations. In 2024, CPF funded essential new equipment for our First Aid Station, including animal hospitalization cages, a sterilization furnace and weight scales. In 2025, their contribution supported the construction of a new aviary and the improvement, repair and upgrading of existing aviaries and the surrounding rehabilitation area. Throughout all these years, CPF has also provided ongoing annual support that allowed us to cover running costs such as animal food and supplies- help that has been invaluable to sustaining our day-to-day operations.

2025
Green Fox – Landscape services funded the purchase of natural materials like wooden sticks and bamboo fencing, which was used to protect the green sea turtle nest at Agios Prokopios in the summer 2025. Their support allowed us to create a safe, unobstructive barrier around the nest throughout the incubation and hatching period. After the successful completion of the nesting cycle, they further assisted us in the safe collection and removal of all materials. Their contribution played a key role in safeguarding this rare nesting event, and the materials will be reused in future nests.

2025
We are deeply thankful to Planeterra and G Adventures for supporting the development of our nature positive tourism initiative “Sea Turtle First Responders”. Through their contribution, we were able to create a beautiful, nature-inspired outdoor meeting space at our center, where travelers and skippers from around the world receive a brief first-responder training to help identify and report injured or sick sea turtles during their journeys around the Cyclades. Planeterra’s support covered the creation of the lounge area, the purchase of outdoor presentation equipment and all the necessary educational materials allowing us to connect conservation with responsible travel in a meaningful and practical way.
