The surprise nest at Agios Prokopios has successfully hatched! 🐢💚

Little Nausika is the green sea turtle who was found in Amorgos two weeks ago, suffering from injuries and a partial amputation of her front flipper caused by fishing line entanglement.

A chain of caring people came together, stretching from the island of Kea all the way to Naxos, for one injured and exhausted flamingo. 🦩

An Invisible Threat...

Until now, we had not seen any signs of sea turtle nesting on Naxos this year — something that had particularly concerned us. But a wonderful surprise came to remind us that nature always finds a way.

The last of the spring's Hedgehogs was released back in the wilderness of Naxos. The female Hedgehog had been found by the side of the road covered in parasites and had a wound on her face. After completing her treatment and regaining her strength she was released in a Wildlife Refuge far from the streets.

A few days ago, members and friends of the Naxos Wildlife Protection Association came together to celebrate a very special moment—the return of four wild birds to freedom.

A unique Naxian wild animal! 🐇
